Where will you find discussion questions, author information, and reviews?
There are lots of great locations to locate discussion questions which will save you time and work compiling your own.

  • With book clubs being so popular these days, many publishers are including the questions in the back of their paperback editions.
  • If the questions are not there, check the publishers web site. Or check one of the web sites that excels in posting that information.
  • If you want to go directly to a web site, try my favorite, ReadingGroupGuides.com, as they have lists of over a thousand titles, and they include a little author information, brief reviews of the book plus suggestions for reading by genre. Also included are questions for Non Fiction titles which are usually not provided by the publisher.
  • Another excellent web site is Book Browse.com where you’ll find lots of help. Most of it is free but you can access much more by registering for a membership.
  • And don’t forget to try the publishers web site for discussion questions or reading guides. The following three publishers offer great information for you about the books you plan to read as do many more that are not listed:

  • Random House Reading Group Guides and more
    Penguin Books Reading Group Guides
    HarperCollins Reading Group Guides

  • You can even check out Spark Notes.com as they sometimes have notes and questions you can use, especially for classics!
  • Many authors have personal web sites now that are very informational. (I love when they give information about their upcoming book so I can get it ordered.) So don’t forget to check the Internet.
  • And if you just cannot locate questions anywhere go to Reading Group Guides.com for What To Do If No Questions Are Available.

(Tip: If you don’t want to search myriads of web sites for the reading guide or discussion questions, just go to your favorite search engine and enter the title of the book with quotation marks and reading guide or discussion questions. You should see links to that material much more quickly!)
